P2P, Heli & Sole Skiing

Peak 2 Peak 3/8/13
I was rung in to ski for the K Jet team in the Peak 2 Peak on Saturday after Dave Fahey had to work. The race is a ski down Homeward run on The Remarkables, bike down Remarks road to Frankton, kayak to Queenstown, run to the bottom of Coronet Peak access road and a bike up the Coronet road to the resort.

The line up of mostly Multi Sporters at the start line of the P2P. Soon after this was taken a human avalanche of carnage tore down the steep slope to our waiting skis

I just did the ski down and finished the leg second behind Andrew Manu Morris but Fraser Gordon did our bike down and led the fleet out the bottom of the Remarks road, he also biked our leg up the Coronet road like a trooper to give us 5th place (out of approx 30) in the business teams category.

Southern Lakes Heli 5/8/13
Monday was my first day Heli-skiing ever! I have done heli drops before but not just lapping runs. Southern Lakes took me out on a trip to the Minarets Range to get footage for their promotion, but weather was not ideal and we had to deal with flat light, nevertheless burning around in a chopper is rad!

Sole Skiiing with good crew 6/8/13
As I approached the Southern Lakes Heli office to drop off footage from the day before I bumped into Charlie Lyons, long time friend and ski buddy who was busy hassling the poor person on the other end of my old cell phone number. He hustled me into an over packed car with Taylor Rapley and Matt Soundy, and cruised up Remarks for one of the funnest days skiing I've had this year!
